Volunteering

Cambo Institute provides a variety of volunteering opportunities for the community whether they be therapeutic, work-related or simply pleasurable and also provides for an extremely wide range of skills – from brick-laying to archiving!

The weekly Cambo Green Team creates an opportunity for members of the public to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of environmental volunteering in the community woodlands on Cambo Estate;

Children from Waid Academy work in the woodlands once a week as part of Skills for Work;

Horticulture students and volunteers from throughout the world gain knowledge and experience by working in the gardens.

Conservation Weekends for Groups

These are organised by Andy Ross of New Caledonian Woodlands and are usually at weekends in autumn or spring.
Contact 01764 655 644 or visit
www.newcaldedonianwoodlands.org for further information.

RHS students / Botanic Garden students

Many volunteer and gain practical experience and training from our team of trained gardeners to help them in their careers.

Volunteer organisations

Cambo welcomes volunteers from both these organisations.
Volunteers work in exchange for accommodation and keep.
